বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে (বাকৃবি) প্রথমবারের মতো অনুষ্ঠিত হল জাতীয় ভাষা উৎসব-২০২৩। দুই দিনব্যাপী ওই উৎসবের আয়োজন করে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভাষা বিষয়ক সংগঠন ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ ক্লাব(BAULC)। উৎসবের ১ম পর্ব শুক্রবার (১ ডিসেম্বর) বিভিন্ন ভাষায় প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হয় এবং ২য় পর্বে আলোচনা পর্যায় ও প্রতিযোগিতার বিজয়ীদের মাঝে পুরস্কার বিতরণ করা হয়। শনিবার (০২ ডিসেম্বর) বিকেলে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সৈয়দ নজরুল ইসলাম সম্মেলন কক্ষে ওই আলোচনা ও পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

The competition features 10 segments from 5 languages. Here are the segment details with the rules.

1. শব্দ গল্প কৃত্য

সেগমেন্টটিতে অংশগ্রহণকারী প্রতিযোগীদের ৪ বা ৫ জনের দলে ভাগ করে দেয়া হবে এবং প্রতিযোগীদের দলীয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করতে হবে। সেগমেন্টটি ২ রাউন্ডে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।

প্রথম রাউন্ডে প্রতিটি দলকে প্রতিযোগীতার শুরুতে একটি থিম দিয়ে দেয়া হবে এবং উক্ত থিমের উপর নির্ভর করে তাদেরকে নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে একটি গল্প লিখতে হবে।

প্রথম রাউন্ডে অংশগ্রহণকারী দলগুলোর মধ্যে লিখনীর ভিত্তিতে নির্বাচিত সেরা ৫ টি দল দ্বিতীয় রাউন্ডে অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ পাবে। দ্বিতীয় রাউন্ডে প্রতিটি দলকে তাদের রচিত গল্পটিকে কেন্দ্র করে সম্মানিত বিচারকদের সামনে মঞ্চাভিনয় করতে হবে।

মঞ্চাভিনয়ে নির্বাচিত সেরা দলকে বিজয়ী হিসেবে ঘোষণা করা হবে।

2. সাহিত্যোৎসব

সেগমেন্টটি ৩ টি বিভাগে মোট ২ রাউন্ডে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। বিভাগসমূহ হলোঃ
I. রহস্যাভিযানঃ এই বিভাগে প্রতিযোগীদের রহস্য ও অভিযান বিষয়ক বাংলা সাহিত্য এবং চলচ্চিত্রসমূহ থেকে বহুনির্বাচনি প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিতে হবে।
II. প্রণয় পরিণয়ঃ এই বিভাগে প্রতিযোগীদের রোমান্টিক ও প্রণয় বিষয়ক বাংলা সাহিত্য এবং চলচ্চিত্রসমূহ থেকে বহুনির্বাচনি প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিতে হবে।
III. ভ্রমণাখ্যানঃ এই বিভাগে প্রতিযোগীদের ভ্রমণ বিষয়ক বাংলা সাহিত্য এবং চলচ্চিত্রসমূহ থেকে বহুনির্বাচনি প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিতে হবে।

প্রথম রাউন্ডে প্রতিযোগীদের নিজেদের পূর্বনির্বাচিত বিভাগ থেকে নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে বহুনির্বাচনী প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিতে হবে।

প্রথম রাউন্ডের নাম্বারের ভিত্তিতে প্রতি বিভাগ থেকে সেরা দুইজন প্রতিযোগী দ্বিতীয় রাউন্ডে যাবে। দ্বিতীয় রাউন্ডে সেরা দুইজন প্রতিযোগীর মধ্যে একটি বাজার রাউন্ড (স্ক্রিনে দেখানো প্রশ্নের উত্তর বাজার প্রেস করে দিতে হবে। সর্বপ্রথম বাজার প্রেস করা প্রতিযোগী উত্তর দেবার সুযোগ পাবেন।) অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। প্রতি বিভাগ থেকে বাজার রাউন্ডে সর্বোচ্চ সংখ্যক উত্তরদাতা প্রতিযোগী বিজয়ী হিসেবে নির্বাচিত হবেন।

3. ব্যাকরণ ব্যঞ্জন

সেগমেন্টটিতে প্রতিযোগীদের বাংলা ব্যাকরণের নিয়মাবলী থেকে নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে বহুনির্বাচনী প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিতে হবে।

সর্বোচ্চ সংখ্যক সঠিক উত্তরদাতাদের মধ্যে থেকে প্রথম তিনজন প্রতিযোগী বিজয়ী হিসেবে নির্বাচিত হবেন।

4. Envision Write Perform

This is a Group Segment where the participants will be formed into a group of 4 or 5 people and they will participate as a group in this segment. This segment is divided into two rounds.

In the first round, each group will receive a theme and they will have to write a story based on the theme. Time will be limited for this segment.

The top 5 groups on the basis of their story will qualify for the second round where they will have to perform an On-stage Drama based on their story in front of our judges.

One team on the basis of their performance will be announced as the Winner of this segment.

5. Fiction Fusion

This segment is divided into 2 rounds and 3 categories. The categories are:
I. Potter Heads: In this category, participants will have to answer multiple-choice questions based on Harry Potter Books and Movies.
II. Marvel Maniacs: In this category, participants will have to answer multiple-choice questions based on Marvel Cinematic Universe and Comics.
III. F. R. I. E. N. D. S. Forever: In this category, participants will have to answer multiple-choice questions based on the F. R. I. E. N. D. S. series.

In the first round, participants will participate in their previously chosen category. Time will be limited for this segment.

The top 2 participants from each category will qualify for the second round where they will face each other in a buzzer round. The top scorer of this round from each category will be announced as the Winner of this segment.

6. Search the Word

In this segment, participants will receive some word box puzzles. They will have to search words from the word boxes and write those on the answer sheet. For each word, they will get 1 mark. Time will be limited for this segment.

The top 3 participants will be announced as the Winner of this segment.

7. Nepali

In this segment, Participants will have to answer multiple-choice questions and short questions based on Nepal’s language, culture, and festivals. Time will be limited for this segment.

The top participant will be announced as the Winner of this segment.

8. Japanese

In this segment, Participants will have to answer multiple-choice questions and short questions based on Japan’s language, culture, and festivals. Time will be limited for this segment.

The top participant will be announced as the Winner of this segment.

9. French

In this segment, Participants will have to answer multiple-choice questions and short questions based on France’s language, culture, and festivals. Time will be limited for this segment.

The top participant will be announced as the Winner of this segment.

10. Wall Magazine

This segment is divided into 3 categories. The categories are:
I. Hand Painting: Participants will have to submit a hand painting based on the theme of Language, Literature, or Culture of any Country during their reporting at the event.
II. Illustration: Participants will have to submit the printed copy of their digital illustration or design based on the theme of Language, Literature, or Culture of any Country during their reporting at the event. They will also have to send the digital copy of the design on email (baulanguageclub@gmail.com).
III. Calligraphy: Participants will have to submit a copy of their calligraphy based on the theme of Language, Literature, or Culture of any Country during their reporting at the event.

The top participant from each category will be announced as the Winner of this segment.

The Winners of the National Language Fest 2023 will receive a Prize Pool of (40K) BDT. Along with the Prize Money, they will also receive a Medal and certificate.

On December 2, 2023, BAULC is scheduled to host a series of sessions aimed at enhancing the linguistic and communication skills of students. The topics for these sessions are IELTS, Bangla Literature, Public Speaking, E-mail Communication and Hosting. Each speaker will be allocated 40 minutes to deliver their speech on the respective topic.

Any University student across the country can register for the event. Each participant will receive following accessories during the event-

Competition: T-shirt, Notepad, Pen, Snacks, Certificate.

Session: T-shirt, Notepad, Pen, Souvenir, Lunch, Certificate.

Competition and Session Combo: T-shirt, Notepad, Pen, Snacks, Souvenir, Lunch, Certificate.

আলোচনা পর্যায়ের শুরুতে বাংলা সাহিত্য এবং ভাষার ইতিহাস ঐতিহ্য নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন বাংলা একাডেমির সভাপতি ও কথাসাহিত্যিক সেলিনা হোসেন।এসময় তিনি বাঙালির বাংলা ভাষা অর্জনের রক্তাক্ত ইতিহাস তুলে ধরেন।

নিজ নিজ ভাষার প্রতি সম্মান প্রদানের বিষয়ে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. এমদাদুল হক চৌধুরী বলেন, উচ্চশিক্ষার জন্যে যখন আমি বিদেশে যাই সেখানে তারা স্বদেশী ভাষার সম্মান দেখিয়ে ইংরেজি জানলেও অনেকেই ইংরেজি ভাষায় কথা বলেন না। আবার উচ্চারণের তারতম্যের কারণেও অনেকে আমাদের ইংরেজি বুঝতে পারেন না। তারা যেমন তাদের ভাষার সঠিক উচ্চারণটি চান তেমনি আমাদেরও উচিত তাদের ভাষাকে সম্মান দেখিয়ে সঠিক উচ্চারণ শেখা। সেইসাথে সবচেয়ে বড় বিষয় হলো যে, প্রথমে নিজের ভাষাকে সম্মান জানাতে হবে। নিজের ভাষার শব্দগুলোর সঠিক উচ্চারণ আমাদের শিখতে হবে।

পরবর্তীতে যেকোনো অনুষ্ঠান সঞ্চালনা বা যেকোনো বিষয় উপস্থাপনার কলাকৌশল নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন সঞ্চালক রাফসান সাবাব খান। তিনি বলেন, ভালো সঞ্চালনার জন্য শব্দভান্ডার সমৃদ্ধ করতে হবে, উচ্চারণ শুদ্ধ হতে হবে, বাকপটুতা থাকতে হবে এবং অবশ্যই আত্মবিশ্বাসী হতে হবে।

বিদেশে উচ্চ শিক্ষা বিষয়ক দিকনির্দেশনা প্রদান করেন কৃষি অর্থনীতি বিভাগের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক ড. মো. নাহিদ সাত্তার।

আইইএলটিএস এর অপরিহার্যতা নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন ইনস্টিটিউট অফ ইংলিশ ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজের ইন্সট্রাক্টর তাহসিন ইসলাম।

অনুষ্ঠানে বিসিএসে সফলতার ক্ষেত্রে পড়াশোনার সঠিক পদ্ধতি নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন কৃষি ক্যাডারপ্রাপ্ত বাকৃবি শিক্ষার্থী মো. কামরুল হাসান কামু।

সর্বশেষ আইইএলটিএসে সেরা অবস্থান রাখার বিষয়ে আলোকপাত করেন ইনস্টিটিউট অফ ইংলিশ ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজের ইন্সট্রাক্টর তাসনিম বিনতে হক।

সেশন পর্ব শেষে ভাষা প্রতিযোগিতার ১০ টি বিভাগ (শব্দগল্পকৃত্য ১ম এবং ২য় পর্ব, সাহিত্য উৎসব ১ম এবং ২য় পর্ব, কল্পকাহিনি একীকরণ ১ম ও ২য় পর্ব, ব্যাকরণ ব্যঞ্জন, ফরাসি, নেপালি ও জাপানিজ ভাষা, শব্দ খোঁজ ) থেকে মোট ২০ জনকে পুরস্কৃত করা হয়। বিজয়ীদের পুরস্কার হিসেবে মেডেল, সার্টিফিকেট, টি-শার্ট এবং চল্লিশ হাজার টাকা সম্মাননা দেওয়া হয়।

ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ ক্লাবের সভাপতি অধ্যাপক ড. মো. সাইদুর রহমানের সভাপতিত্বে এবং সাদমান সামিন, সাদিয়া ইসলাম, স্বীকৃতি বর্মন, শাহিদা শিমু ও মাইশা লামিয়ার সঞ্চালনায় অনুষ্ঠানের অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা অধ্যাপক ড. মো. হারুন-অর-রশিদসহ বিভিন্ন বিভাগের শিক্ষকবৃন্দ এবং প্রায় দুইশতাধিক শিক্ষার্থী।

উল্লেখ্য, উচ্চশিক্ষা এবং পেশাগত জীবনে ভাষা চর্চার প্রভাব উপলব্ধি করে শিক্ষার্থীদেরকে সেদিকে সমৃদ্ধ করে তুলতে ২০১৮ সালে বাকৃবিতে ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ ক্লাবের যাত্রা শুরু হয়। প্রতিষ্ঠার পর থেকেই শিক্ষার্থীদের ভাষা বিষয়ক জ্ঞান সমৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে নানা কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করে আসছে বাকৃবি ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ ক্লাব।
